About ISTS 2019

ISTS - International Seminar on Technology for Sustainability - is a 'student-organized' educational event open for all students over the world who have passion to share and learn technical problem solving in cross cultural environments and global problems to improve skills and prepare for sustainable development in the future. The objective of the seminars is to raise awareness of higher education students on the importance of developments under sustainable development goals (SDGs) by integration of up to date technologies in both technical and application aspects together with promotion of awareness on environmental friendliness of the products. In addition the seminars also promote cultural exchange between international students.

Thammasat School of Engineering, Thammasat University was honored in cooperation with National Institute of Technology, Fukushima College, Japan to host the International Seminar on Technology for Sustainability 2019 (ISTS 2019) on 7-13 October 2019 at Thammasat University Rangsit Campus, Thailand. The main focus of this year’s seminar is the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 3: Good Health and Well Being which intend to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for citizens of all ages, and number 13: Climate Action which is an issue that requires solutions that need to be coordinated at the international level to help developing countries move toward a low-carbon economy.

This year’s seminar will be organized by students from Thammasat School of Engineering, Thammasat University, and the National Institute of Technology, Fukushima College, Japan to work together to plan and set up topics, objectives and theme of the seminar. In addition, these students will also organize the seminar by themselves with support from instructors from both institutions who will act only as advisors.
